Seven of eight nodes offline in the cluster. Time to clone the upgraded node 8 onto nodes 2-7, then bring everything back up and hope it works.

This is a cone from a Coulter Pine or Big-cone Pine (Pinus coulteri). It is native to the coastal mountains of southern California. Coulter Pines produce the largest cones of any pine tree species. These spiny cones are 20-40 cm (8-16 in) long, and weigh 2-5 kg (4-10 lbs) when fresh. People are actually advised to wear hardhats when working in Coulter Pine groves, and the large size of the cones has earned them the nickname “widowmakers” among locals.

I brought it back from Mt. Wilson whilst I was working at the observatory near Los Angeles. I probably broke all sorts of quarantine laws in the process, but I wanted one to keep.

Trapped? Jebus said: ‘I am the gate; whoever enters through me shall me saved.’ – John 10:9

Somehow I doubt that the Christian Union will get many takers from advertising in a Physics department.

Great day out at The Public in West Bromwich today for the “Let’s Go Public” (GC2M0FC) geocaching event. Thanks Joanne!

Best quote of the event …
Sir Tiberian: “Oh look, someone must have done the Las Vegas sign cache like you did.”
Me: “Oh yes! Wait a minute … that is me!!” lol
